INQ. & Rob Feher – Bop
As their first release for 2023, INQ. have come out swinging with their new single, ‘BOP’. Featuring Rob Feher on co-production duties, the latest from the western Sydney rap duo is a stamp of refreshed vigour as they take further steps into a brand new year of music and creativity.
The vibrancy of ‘Bop’ is what makes this single such an immersive listen from the jump. For INQ. the track came together as the duo re-emerged from lockdown; inspired by the environment around them, the single balances the nuance of light and dark textures with finesse.
“The topic was fuelled by news coverage of the privilege held by certain communities and the division that this sparked between us. The homies Rob and Nikos created this really bright yet heavy backdrop to compliment the overall frequency we wanted to emit.” – INQ.
Though ‘Bop’ explores more serious themes than the arrangement may initially suggest, INQ. knew that this song couldn’t be delivered without the energy and flair their music to date has become renowned for. And it’s why ‘Bop’ is never devoid of a unique sonic personality, nor does it lose any sense of ambition or boldness in its messaging.
The duo poured their perspectives and shared societal vision into the making of ‘Bop’, with Rob Feher adding extra punch to the final output.
‘Bop’ is a tailormade anthem for those needing uplifting and a reminder of the presence of community. A song for their fellow Western Sydneysiders, INQ. hope ‘Bop’ reaches everyone with its honesty and vulnerability.
“The intention behind ‘Bop’ is to shine a light on/give a voice to the everyday person in Western Sydney. A lot of media glorifies violence and the negative side of things – what isn’t portrayed is how its multiculturalism has created a vibrant energy and special sense of community.
Growing up here has exposed us to so many different walks of life, which has taught us so much about people, tradition and all forms of art. ‘Bop’ is the anthem to celebrate our differences and embrace where we come from.” – INQ.
